If you’re a resident at Rivervale Shores, chances are you’ve noticed some colourful new additions around the neighbourhood.
These eye-catching decorated bins are the result of a collaboration between Sengkang Town Council and M.Y World @ Rivervale Shores.
The initiative invited preschool students and their families to transform ordinary green bins into vibrant works of art, while promoting the importance of keeping our shared spaces clean and sustainable.
Inspired by this vision, 30 preschool students and their families brought their ideas to life. Some transformed their bins into quirky, trash-chomping characters, while others decorated theirs with catchy slogans that encouraged proper waste disposal and environmentally friendly habits.
The project was a labour of love that unfolded over the course of a month. Families first worked on their individual bins at home before gathering for a final painting session. Despite the sweltering heat, participants enthusiastically put the finishing touches on their creations and celebrated their collective efforts.
Sengkang Town Council extends its heartfelt thanks to M.Y World @ Rivervale Shores and all the participating families for helping to beautify our estate while reminding everyone of the importance of keeping our estate clean and green.
We hope these decorated bins add a little colour and joy to our residents’ daily trash routines and inspire our community to care for our shared spaces, one piece of litter at a time.
